Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensuring all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines are understood and strictly adhered to.
  • Conducting performance and operation reviews to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Supervising staff by identifying and delegating responsibilities, providing directions to staff, and ensuring restaurant objectives are met and achieved.
  • Conducting staff training and monitoring compliance in areas such as safety, sanitation, and food hygiene.
  • Monitoring food preparation methods, portion sizes, garnishing, and food presentation.
  • Ensuring proper coordination between the front and back offices to ensure proper service delivery.
  • Assisting in the menu implementation and improvement of menu items based on feedback gathered from guests.
  • Identifying restaurant needs in kitchenware and equipment, placing orders, and liaising with vendors and suppliers.
  • Maintaining detailed records of daily, weekly, and monthly costs of revenues.
  • Liaising with external contractors on Jumia, Glovo, and Uber Eats for takeaway services.
  • Coordinate daily operations, including service, housekeeping, production, purchasing, and admin, to ensure efficient operations.
  • Deliver excellent service and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products.
  • Regularly review market prices and research new suppliers
  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.
  • Promote the restaurant brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and other relevant channels.
  • Recommend ways to increase customer reach
  • Manage the restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it.
  • Organize and supervise shifts.
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations.
  • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly, and annual revenues and expenses.
